Compute Canada – Call for Nominations
The Governance and Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors for Compute Canada launched an open call for nominations to be considered for open volunteer positions on Compute Canada’s Board of Directors.
Compute Canada is the only national organization providing advanced research computing services and expertise to Canadian researchers. Serving on the Compute Canada Board is an opportunity to participate in the development of this essential infrastructure for the knowledge economy.
The successful Board candidate will be expected to provide guidance and insight on how Compute Canada can best serve the evolving needs of this community. We hope to receive a number of nominations with a view to having a diverse, talented and dedicated pool of candidates to draw from for our board composition.
Candidates for the Board position must be available to attend quarterly Board meetings held in different locations across Canada and to attend quarterly committee teleconference calls for at least one committee, plus dedicate a few hours per quarter to meeting preparation.
Interested individuals may apply to be considered for election as a Director by emailing Dr. Nils Petersen, Chair, Governance and Nominating Committee.
The final candidate will be reviewed and approved by the Compute Canada Board before being submitted for election by the Compute Canada Members at the Annual General Meeting in September 2016.
All individuals who submit an application will be notified of the outcome of the process after the final slate of Directors has been approved by the Board and before the slate is presented to Members for election.
