Benefits to Becoming a Member
Interested in becoming a member? Any institution that is a partner in the Compute Canada MSI project, or that regards ARC as essential infrastructure for the research occurring on its campus, is encouraged to become a member in order to participate in the governance of the Compute Canada project.
With a voice at the table, members enjoy the benefits of pooled resources at a scale not possible at a single institutional level, as well as access to a common platform that enables cross-regional and cross-institutional collaboration. Compute Canada acts as a unified voice for our members to government — advocating for sustainable ARC funding. We also partner with other research-enabling organizations, such as CANARIE (network), CARL (libraries), and national laboratories.
Compute Canada membership is available to all institutions eligible for funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI). Members pay an annual membership fee. An institution does not have to be a member for its researchers to have access to our resources. All of our resources and services are free for researchers affiliated with any Canadian university. (Read our Access Policy.)
